OS2025 will present the latest experimental, numerical, and theoretical studies on plasma physics and fusion science, including plasma confinement, plasma heating and stability, transport phenomena, direct energy conversion, plasma diagnostics, plasma-wall interactions, applications of mirror plasmas, mirror-based 14-MeV neutron sources, and prospects for mirror-based reactors.

  • Details: The banquet will be a standing-style reception featuring a buffet and unlimited drinks.

Note: Please pay the banquet participation fee by August 24. This fee is non-refundable in case of cancellation.

Machine tour (closed)

A machine tour at the Plasma Research Center is scheduled for the afternoon of September 26. Participants will have the opportunity to visit cutting-edge experimental facilities, including GAMMA 10/PDX and Pilot GAMMA PDX-SC.

Registration for the machine tour is now closed as the maximum number of participants has been reached.

Accommodation

Participants and their accompanying persons can stay at Hotel JAL City Tsukuba, which is the closest hotel to the conference venue. Hotel rooms are reserved for the period of Sep. 21–27 (check-in on the 21st, check-out by the 27th), and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Flight to Japan

Most participants are recommended to use Narita International Airport, which is the largest international airport in Japan. Haneda Airport is also a good option, which is the largest domestic airport in Japan. Note that Ibaraki Airport is not recommended for accessing Tsukuba.

Immigration and customs

When entering Japan, it is convenient to use Visit Japan Web. A part of the immigration and customs procedures can be completed in advance.

Airport to Tsukuba

Whether Narita International Airport or Haneda Airport, taking a bus is the easiest way to Tsukuba. You need to buy a bus ticket at the airport.

Cellular networks in Tsukuba

5G and 4G cellular networks are available countrywide. eSIMs and SIM cards can be obtained online and at airports, respectively. Note that after arriving in Tsukuba it is difficult to buy SIM cards.

Payments in Tsukuba

Credit cards are available countrywide, but cash is also frequently used in Tsukuba. The easiest way to get cash is to use an ATM at a convenience store.

Transportation in Tsukuba

The train available in Tsukuba is Tsukuba Express, which directly goes to Akihabara in Tokyo. Kanto Railway Bus and Tsuku Bus are also available as local buses. The payment by an IC travel card is useful, but the cash is also available.

There is a taxi stand at Tsukuba Center. Taxi apps are also available in Tsukuba, e.g., Uber and GO.

Emergency alert

In case of emergencies, e.g., great earthquake, your smartphone will sound an alert. In that case, please ensure your safety and follow the instructions of staffs.
Safety tips for travelers

Tsukuba to airport

The easiest way to airports is to take a bus from platform 8 at Tsukuba Center. The bus ticket to Narita International Airport can be reserved online or at the bus ticket office using your credit card. You can also board the bus without a reservation, if there are available seats. In this case, you need to pay the fare in cash or with an IC travel card when boarding the bus.

The main venue is Convention Hall 200 on the 2nd floor. Registration will take place in the lobby outside this Convention Hall.
